The Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) is pleased to announce two new cohorts for the Canadian Credible Leadership (CCL) program.

The CCL program is an interactive and engaging leadership program that was created in collaboration with leadership experts, police members, and CPKN. The program teaches the skills necessary to be successful in a leadership position at any level.

“CCL combines self-study with live workshops and peer support, enabling participants to develop skills in areas like emotional intelligence, operational efficiency, and leadership,” said Chantelle Ivanski, Director of Innovation, CPKN. “The program is designed to support the development of leaders at all levels – sworn or civilian, sergeant or inspector, director or manager – acknowledging the significance of leadership across roles.”

In 2026, CPKN will offer two cohorts: one in February and one in September. Each cohort will be available in English only and consist of nine virtual sessions, each lasting two hours, accompanied by optional online reading and video materials. To earn a certificate of completion, participants must attend at least seven of the nine sessions.

The February cohort, funded by a Motorola Solutions Foundation grant, offers free professional development for underrepresented police and public safety members (such as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, women, LGBTQIA+). While the September cohort is open to all Network members.

Registration for both cohorts opens on October 1, 2025, with a limit of 30 participants in each.
