Policing has evolved dramatically over the last 20 years and, as a result, so has leadership. In this session we will explore how police leadership has changed, where we are now, and where it is going.
Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie will begin by setting the stage on how leadership has changed in the past 20 years and what this means for CPKN and police training.
We will then hear from retired Chief Superintendent Sue Decock, Staff Sergeant Tanya McLachlan, and Inspector Helen Peters who will talk about their experience as women in leadership and the training they’ve received.
Chantelle Ivanski, Director of Innovation, CPKN, will then discuss the wide range of leadership courses available and what this means for those looking to develop their leadership skills.
Finally, Inspector Chirag Bhatt and Superintendent Jeff Sandy will discuss the future of leadership and the development of a new Executive Leadership Program being developed with the Ontario Association
of Chiefs of Police.
