The Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) will be presenting at the International Associations of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference held October 24 to 27 in Orlando, Florida.
CPKN Innovation Advisor, Dominic Mallett will be accompanied by Sean O’Brien, Sergeant, Toronto Police Service (TPS), and CPKN National Advisory Committee member, to present From Tools to Talent: How Emerging Technology is Driving Continuous Upskilling in Modern Policing. Their presentation will focus on the new challenges introduced by fast changing technology and how police services are adapting for continuous learning and moving away from one-time training applications.
This will be the first time CPKN will be featured on the IACP conference stage.
“We have made some meaningful strides in exploring international relations this year,” Sonia Poulin, President, CPKN, states. “This opportunity will help position CPKN as a leader in police and public safety training and allow us to strengthen existing international connections, build new relationships, and explore collaborations that advance our mission.”
Building these relationships align with CPKN’s strategic plan. By connecting with international partners, CPKN can share Canadian expertise, learn from global approaches to police and public safety training, and identify opportunities to bring new knowledge, research, and innovation back to its Network.
In addition to Mallett and O’Brien’s presentation, both Poulin and Krystine Richards, Vice President, CPKN, will be in attendance to further foster connections across borders.
