Turning Research into Real-World Impact

We take research and innovative ideas and translate them into clear, actionable guidance or tools for the policing and public safety community.

Our goal is simple: ensure the knowledge generated by studies, initiatives, and emerging best practices reaches the professionals who can use it every day on the frontlines.

By making complex research accessible, practical, and easy to apply, we help the Network stay informed, prepared, and ahead of emerging trends. This helps us turn ideas into tangible improvements in learning and professional development.

Exploring the Issues Shaping Modern Policing

This year’s 2025 Annual Literature Review identifies four key themes influencing police work across Canada:

  • Mental health and wellness
  • Police militarization and use of force
  • The impact of social media on police-public interactions
  • The integration of emerging technologies

Drawing on open-access research from 2024, this review offers insights that inform training, policy, and leadership decisions across the sector.

Innovative Learning Through XR Technology

Our 2025 White Paper titled Extending Reality: XR Applications in Canadian Police and Public Safety Training engaged 33 police services, training academies, academic institutions, correctional facilities, and public safety organizations.

This paper explores how extended reality is being adopted to enhance realism, retention, and safety in training environments.
