Course Overview
This SFST Review and Introduction to Drug Impaired Driving online course was designed for police officers who are interested in reviewing their impaired driving detection skills, their SFST designation, and becoming more familiar with the various drugs that can impair driving and the observable signs of drug impairment.
This course will ensure that police officers are able to identify and gather evidence of impairment due to alcohol and/or another drug, thereby stopping impaired drivers and subsequently reducing the number of crashes, deaths, and injuries caused by impaired drivers.
Learning Objectives
When you have completed this course you will be able to:
- Recall the steps involved in the traffic stop process
- Recall how to administer the SFST Test, assess the subject and interpret the test
- Recognize the seven (7) drug categories and the signs of impairment
- Recall what are reasonable grounds and their impact on impaired driving cases
