The Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) has launched its Canadian Credible Leadership (CCL) Cohort and is ready to accept registrations for its September workshop.
The CCL Cohort is a virtual program comprised of nine weekly workshops facilitated by subject matter experts. Each immersive two-hour workshop provides a unique learning experience that includes skills like self-management, social and self-awareness, problem solving, coaching, and more. The cohort is associated with CPKN’s field-tested online course and prepares learners to model, inspire, challenge, enable, and encourage.
Registration for the September cohort is now open to everyone, with a limit of 30 participants.
“CCL combines self-study with live workshops and peer support, enabling participants to develop skills in areas like emotional intelligence, operational efficiency, and leadership,” said Chantelle Ivanski, Director of Innovation, CPKN. “The program is designed to support the development of leaders at all levels – sworn or civilian, sergeant or inspector, director or manager – acknowledging the significance of leadership across roles.”
The current cohort, launched in February and funded by a Motorola Solutions Foundation grant, offers free professional development for underrepresented police and public safety members (such as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, women, LGBTQIA+). As part of the grant, CPKN will also host a hybrid version of the workshop in Toronto.
“We are inspired by the impactful work of CPKN within their community,” said Wesley Barden Touhy, Executive Director, Motorola Solutions Foundation. “The Motorola Solutions Foundation is proud to champion their efforts as they continue to grow and make a positive difference.”
