Course Overview
The purpose of the Introduction to Hardened Secure Communications online course is to offer police and other Canadian law enforcement partners with timely, relevant, and interactive online training that provides a general knowledge and understanding of what Hardened Secure Communications are, their relevance in police investigations, and what to do when coming across these devices and platforms.
When you have completed this course you will be able to:
- Define dedicated encrypted communication device
- Identify and define terminology relevant to hardened secure communications
- Explain the importance of hardened secure communications and their relevance in organized crime groups investigations
- Recognize the characteristics, functions, and features of dedicated encrypted communication devices
- Identify and define terminology relevant to dedicated encrypted communication devices
- Recall best practices when handling dedicated encrypted communication devices
- Identify some recent hardened secure communications investigations
- Recognize applicable Canadian legislation
- Recognize the importance of confidential informants in intelligence gathering
- Explain the role of the RCMP HSC Coordination Centre and how they can assist you
- Determine how you can assist the HSC Coordination Centre
- Discover what type of information is important to assist in the national collaborative strategy
