CPKN is Canada's leading provider of e-learning for police and law enforcement. In collaboration with Canadian police services and training academies, CPKN hosts and delivers effective, engaging, and cost-efficient e-learning courses that support the specialized training needs of the Canadian police community.

CPKN may use your name or e-mail address subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy. CPKN will not sell, barter, or rent your personally identifiable information to any unauthorized third party.

Collection and Use of Information

Personally identifiable information is collected upon registration, via CPKN's Registration Form. The personal information you provide is necessary for the creation of your user account and access to the requested course(s). Your information is securely stored for tracking/ referral purposes. This information is not shared with third parties.

Personal Information

CPKN must collect personal information from users during the registration process, including, first name, middle initial, last name, badge number, e-mail address and billing contact information. CPKN collects this information to provide you with your user information, to send you updates on CPKN course information, to provide user support, and to ensure that the maximum quality of service is obtained. CPKN respects your privacy and does not share your information with third parties.

CPKN users have the opportunity to provide feedback on its products and services through various evaluation and surveys. CPKN merely tracks information pertaining to user satisfaction. To ensure the quality of our product(s), we reserve the right to maintain evaluation and feedback records.

Partners

In some instances, CPKN provides services or sells products jointly with third party organizations (e.g. Active Canadian Emergency Training.) Courses provided by third party organizations also adhere to the guidelines of this privacy policy, particularly with regard to the collection and use of personal information.

Surveys

CPKN users have the opportunity to participate in surveys and interviews if they so choose. In such instances, personal information is volunteered, via email, to be used for internal research and possibly research projects with outside organizations such as the Police Sector Council. CPKN utilizes this information to enhance its products and services to the Canadian police community. Such information will not be passed to third parties without prior consent unless where required by law.

Information Dissemination: Opting Out

If CPKN intends to use your personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time of collection, you will be notified via e-mail. You will have a choice as to whether or not you consent to the usage of your information in a different manner.

Your continued use of the CPKN site following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes. Information collected prior to the time any change is posted will be used according to the rules and laws that applied at the time the information was collected.

Protection of Information

CPKN is hosted in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and advanced technology to prevent unauthorized access. In addition, CPKN's virus protection, operating system, and server logs are updated and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure no unauthorized access has occurred. CPKN's advanced architect technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to authorized users.

CPKN is not liable for loss of passwords due to user carelessness. If someone learns your password, you may lose control over your personally identifiable information. If you believe your password has been compromised, we recommend that you immediately change your password. You can do so by logging into CPKN's website and selecting "My Profile".

This policy and the use of this site are governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may obtain a copy of the Act by contacting CPKN Support.
