New Releases: Missing Persons Investigations Series
The RCMP's National Centre for Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains has collaborated with CPKN to create the following courses on missing person investigations for the Canadian police community.
These courses detail the roles of the investigator/police agency in various types of missing person investigations and the various NCMPUR services and tools that are available to assist investigations.

MPUR: Missing Adults Level One Investigator This course uses a simulated investigation to take learners through the life cycle of a missing adult investigation. At each stage of the investigation, this course explores the roles of the investigator/police agency and the various NCMPUR services and tools that are available to assist the investigation. MPUR: Missing Children Level One Investigator This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of investigators in missing children investigations. In addition to reviewing the various stages of an investigation and the associated roles of the investigator, this course provides information on the role of NCMPUR during an investigation and the services NCMPUR provides to assist investigators. MPUR: Unidentified Remains Level One Investigator This course explores the life cycle of an unidentified remains investigation and the respective roles of the police agency/investigator and coroner/medical examiner. It also provides information on the role of NCMPUR and the services provided to support investigators. Course Duration: 2 hours |

MPUR: Child Abduction - AMBER Alert
Provides frontline police officers with an overview of the AMBER Alert program. It will provide the information and knowledge needed to determine whether an AMBER Alert is appropriate in a given circumstance, what steps are involved in issuing an AMBER Alert, and what follow-up is required.
MPUR: Child Abduction - Applicable Legislation and Charging Guidelines
Provides investigators with an overview of the various types of legislation in place related to child abduction, as well as the information and knowledge they need to determine when criminal charges may be appropriate and what approvals are required prior to laying charges.
