Fight Fraud on the Front Lines

Counterfeiting, identify theft, and cheque and credit card frauds are among the fastest growing crimes in Canada. These crimes generate billions of dollars in losses annually and have devastating impacts on victims.

Developed by the Bank of Canada, in collaboration with the RCMP and other police agencies, Payment Card Partners (representing Visa, MasterCard, and Interac issuers and acquirers), Canada Post, and several industry associations, Fighting Fraud on the Front Lines provides easy-to-follow advice on how Canadians can avoid becoming victims of these types of crimes. This course features four short videos depicting victims of financial fraud, followed by information on how to protect yourself from these scams. A tips sheet summarizes the fraud-prevention advice and lists additional resources.

This resource provides learners with an introductory overview of bank note counterfeiting, payment card crime, cheque and money order fraud, and identity theft.

  1. Login to your CPKN Account
  2. Click 'All Available' in the upper navigation bar
  3. Click on the 'CPKN Catalogue'
  4. Scroll through the course list (on the lower part of your screen) to Fighting Fraud on the Front Line
  5. Click 'Register' (to the right of the title)
  6. Click on 'Registered' in the upper navigation bar. The title should appear within the list of courses to which you are register.
