Fraudulent travel and identity documents are often used by organized crime, terrorist organizations, and other criminals for a wide range of illegal purposes. The ability to recognize the authenticity of a travel or identity document can help police and other law enforcement personnel recognize potential threats and disrupt criminal activities.
This course instructs on the basic skills required to recognize genuine travel or identity documents and provides techniques to determine whether a document is genuine or fraudulent. In addition to identifying the difference between counterfeit and altered documents, this course introduces learners to a number of different security features as well as the criminal law, policy, and procedures that apply when fraudulent documentation is discovered.
