École nationale de police du Québec
Michel Beaudoin is the Director General of the École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ).
Prior to taking this position in September 2005, Mr. Beaudoin spent a large part of his career at the Montreal Police Department where he joined as a patrol officer in 1974. During his policing career, Mr. Beaudoin was one of the architects behind the introduction of community policing in Montreal. He initiated the large deployment of police forces during the ice storm of 1998 and was responsible for planning and organizing Operation Arobas, which ensured that the Montreal Police Department's administrative, operational, and technical systems were ready for the year 2000.
In 2003, Mr. Beaudoin retired from active policing to serve for a brief time as the Corporate Affairs Officer and Assistant to the Director. From 2003 to 2005, he served as Associate Deputy Minister for the Police Affairs, Prevention, and Security Services branch of the Department of Public Security. During that time, he created an Aboriginal Affairs Directorate within the Police Affairs Branch and reorganized the Police Forces Inspection Service Directorate.
As Director General of ENPQ, Mr. Beaudoin plans, coordinates, and leads all of the academy's activities in the fulfillment of its mission. He holds a Master's in Public Administration.
